Smoking rates

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 18 years and over were twice as likely as non-Indigenous adults to be current smokers (51% and 24% respectively). As shown in the following graphs, smoking is more common among Indigenous males and females in every age group when compared with the non-Indigenous population.
